Zero-knowledge & applied cryptography consulting
I help fintechs and protocols design, build and audit zero-knowledge and privacy systems. The work spans protocol design, security review, threshold cryptography and privacy-preserving payments — on the Ethereum and Zcash stacks. I'm hands-on - write specs, review circuits, ship Proof of Concept (PoC) code - and I bring a deep understanding of financial use cases and requirements.
How I can help
Zero-knowledge protocol design
End-to-end design of ZK-based systems — (zk)SNARKs, proof aggregation - with specific interest in privacy and scalability use cases. I've authored protocols like Zeth (Zerocash on Ethereum) and Zecale (proof aggregation for scalability) for instance.
Cryptographic protocol audits
Independent security review of cryptographic protocols and their implementations. You get findings that engineers can act on.
Threshold cryptography & signatures
Design of MPC protocols and threshold schemes. Use cases include: distributed key management or threshold signature protocols for instance.
Privacy-preserving payments
Design, implementation and/or auditing of shielded value transfer and confidential transactions protocols.
Privacy & compliance
The hard junction of confidentiality and regulation: view keys, selective disclosure, trusted execution environments and threshold decryption.
Track record
Five years at Clearmatics, last as Head of R&D reporting to the CEO, where I built three teams from the ground up — cryptography R&D, quant finance and data. I worked on a wide range of projects including: USC (the Utility Settlement Coin, which spun out as Fnality International), Mobius, Zeth (privacy protocols) and Ion (interoperability) - to name a few. Since then I've worked with Osmosis, Pyth, Flashbots and QEDIT on threshold cryptography, privacy-preserving payment systems, Zcash Shielded Assets and security audits.
Between 2020 and 2021 I was an active contributor and maintainer of libsnark, libff and libfqfft — the core C++ libraries underpinning much of the zk-SNARK ecosystem then — including extending them with support for new elliptic-curve groups.

2026Independent security review of Ragu, the proof-carrying-data scheme underlying Tachyon in the Zcash ecosystem.

2025Design of Zcash Shielded Assets and protocol extensions — asset swaps and transaction controls — as part of the QEDIT team.
Mempool privacy: an economic perspective
2023Research on mempool privacy treating it as a mechanism-design problem, not only a cryptographic one. Supported by Osmosis and Flashbots.
Zeth — Zerocash on Ethereum
2019Designed the protocol, headed the formal specification and led the implementation of Zeth, bringing Zerocash-grade privacy to Ethereum using zk-SNARKs.
